Overview

In the midst of a materials revolution, innovation is moving forward at an unprecedented speed. TA Instruments and Waters are working together to support a wide array of markets and measurements to meet demanding applications with instrumentation that offers unparalleled performance, precision, and versatility. This role manages supervisors and employees in Sales and Regional Marketing/Demand Generation, responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, including commercial strategy, AOP support, and territory metrics. The position aims to achieve quarter and product targets and can be based anywhere in the US.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop a 3-year commercial strategy aligned with TA's goals to grow the region.
  2. Create accurate sales forecasts and performance goals for the region.
  3. Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop talent and control sales programs.
  4. Engage with key clients, supporting sales reps in relationship management, negotiations, and deal closures.
  5. Oversee Commercial Marketing and inside sales activities, including prospecting and lead generation.
  6. Align Field Scientific operations strategy with customer needs.
  7. Optimize regional processes and control expenditures within budget.
  8. Monitor competitive activities and participate in sales presentations and trade association meetings.
  9. Assign territories, develop quotas, and recommend compensation plans.
  10. Analyze market data to inform pricing and discount strategies.
  11. Collaborate with Marketing on programs to promote sales and participate in product development discussions.
  12. Build and lead a high-performing team, ensuring clear expectations and delivering business outcomes.
  13. Utilize data tools (SFDC / Power BI) for decision-making and long-term growth planning.
  14. Establish and manage project goals for continual achievement.
  15. Communicate expectations, manage performance, and develop organizational talent.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a technology-related field; MBA or master's preferred.
  • 10+ years managing technical sales teams.
  • Strong commercial strategy, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in analytical instrumentation industry preferred.
  • Leadership skills fostering collaboration, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Ability to operate as a change agent in ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.

Salary range: $191,500 to $255,000 annually, based on experience and location.
