Reporting to the Commercial Vice President, TA Instruments, this role manages supervisors and employees in Sales and Regional Marketing/Demand Generation. It is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, providing commercial strategy, supporting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and developing territory metrics and incentive plans. The role is goal-driven to achieve quarterly and product targets.

This position can be based anywhere in the US.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop a 3-year commercial strategy to grow the region aligned with TA strategy.
  2. Create accurate sales forecasts and set performance goals for the region.
  3. Manage staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop sales programs and organizational talent.
  4. Meet key clients, support sales reps in maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing deals.
  5. Oversee and direct Commercial Marketing and inside sales activities for prospecting, lead, and opportunity generation.
  6. Lead the direction of Field Scientific operations to align with customer needs.
  7. Harmonize and optimize regional processes.
  8. Control expenditures to meet budget requirements.
  9. Monitor competitor activities and products.
  10. Deliver sales presentations to key clients with sales representatives.
  11. Represent the company at trade association meetings.
  12. Assign sales territories, develop quotas, and recommend variable compensation plans.
  13. Review market analyses for customer needs, pricing, and discounts.
  14. Contribute to marketing programs and product development discussions.
  15. Build and lead a high-performing team aligned with company growth targets.
  16. Utilize data (SFDC / Power BI) for decision-making to ensure long-term growth.
  17. Establish and manage project goals for timely, cost-efficient achievement.
  18. Communicate expectations, manage performance, coach, and develop organizational talent.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a technology-related field; MBA or technical master's preferred.
  2. 10+ years of successful experience managing technical sales teams.
  3. Strong skills in commercial strategy and forecasting.
  4. Familiarity with analytical instrumentation industry preferred.
  5. Strong leadership skills fostering collaboration, teamwork, and accountability, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  6. Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and be a change agent.
  7. Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.

The base pay ranges from $191,500 to $255,000 annually, depending on factors like location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
