Overview

This role reports to the Commercial Vice President, TA Instruments, and manages supervisors and employees in Sales and Regional Marketing/Demand Generation. Responsibilities include setting strategic direction, coordinating activities, developing territory metrics, and incentive plans to achieve quarterly and product targets. The position can be based anywhere in the US.

Typical Tasks
  1. Develop a 3-year commercial strategy aligned with TA’s goals.
  2. Create accurate sales forecasts and performance goals.
  3. Oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
  4. Engage with key clients and support sales negotiations.
  5. Manage Commercial Marketing and inside sales activities.
  6. Align Field Scientific operations with customer needs.
  7. Optimize processes and control expenditures within budget.
  8. Monitor competitor activities.
  9. Deliver sales presentations and represent the company at trade meetings.
  10. Assign territories, develop quotas, and manage compensation plans.
  11. Analyze market data to inform strategies.
  12. Contribute to marketing and product development discussions.
  13. Build and lead a high-performing team.
  14. Use data tools (SFDC / Power BI) for decision-making.
  15. Manage project goals efficiently and cost-effectively.
  16. Communicate expectations, coach, and develop talent.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field; MBA or master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years managing technical sales teams.
  • Strong commercial strategy and forecasting skills.
  • Familiarity with analytical instrumentation industry preferred.
  • Leadership skills fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and drive change.
  • Effective public speaking skills.

The base salary ranges from $191,500 to $255,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and location.
