SUMMARY

The Senior Direct Support Professional plays an important role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position is responsible for fostering independence, promoting social engagement, and assisting individuals in achieving their personal goals. Additionally, the Senior DSP serves as a mentor, helping to ensure effective team coordination and adherence to individualized care plans and organizational policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize appropriate methods for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with scheduling, assigning, and supporting the team's schedule needs.
• Provides additional oversight and mentorship for the ERC team.
• Assist the team with daily huddles to solicit feedback, answer questions, and communicate relevant information as needed.
• Provide leadership team members with details and observations regarding teammate performance.
• Assist with pack-out and other production-related tasks during downtime or as needed.
• Required to read service and habilitation plans for all individuals served in the assigned group; to assure each individual is receiving proper care according to their plan(s).
• Facilitate and participate in daily scheduled activities.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and Human Resources as part of the team member's support network.
• Ensure proper documentation is completed, including ID notes, communication logs, schedules, incident reports, and payroll.
• Responsible for maintaining records such as monthly calendars, daily activities, habilitation plans, and scheduling.
• Be responsible for maintaining compliance with ratios for persons served.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Anticipate safety needs for all individuals and team members and report any and all issues or concerns to department manager(s) as soon as possible.
• Comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations and requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the Person Centered Plan (PCP).
• Attend the Person-Centered Plan (PCP) meetings as requested.
• Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
• May be assigned other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position coordinates and provides collaborative leadership for teammates in the ERC who hold supported employment roles.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Required: Current CPI certification within 30 days of employment
• Required: Current CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment
• Required: Proficient in Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
• Preferred: At least six months of work experience at Opportunity Village.
• Preferred: Three (3) years of verifiable work experience in a related field such as health care, adult day care, mental health, or special education.
