Qualifications

  • CPI certification within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • ACRE Basic Employment Services certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Preferred: Experience in Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, Customer Service, Business Management, or Public Relations is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Entry Program Training Instructor will be responsible for providing training and advocacy support for participants in the Opportunity Village community-based Entry Training Program. This position will work closely with all members of the Job Development team to support each participant in achieving employment goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize appropriate methods for working with individuals with intellectual and or developmental disabilities.
  • Responsible for providing training to participants in the Entry Training Program.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and insight as to how job tasks might be completed in a more effective and efficient manner.
  • Assist with job-specific challenges that may be present.
  • Identify and support the participant's short-term and long-term career goals.
  • Communicate with the management team, job development team, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, Desert Regional Center (DRC), RTC, and parents/guardians/family members.
  • Responsible for working with participants to expand and enhance their job skills in preparation for future employment. This includes assistance with:
    • Résumé preparation
    • Job searches
    • Completion of job applications
    • Interview training
  • Responsible for networking and maintaining a professional, positive relationship with community sites and partners.
  • Expand existing areas of training and cultivate new opportunities for participants.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation including but not limited to:
    • Quarterly reports
    • Incident reports
    • ID notes
    • Monthly training reports
  • Maintain and submit daily attendance for all individuals in the program.
  • Attend participant's Annual Person Centered Planning (PCP) meetings and Special Meetings.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and conduct participant's monthly meetings with Desert Regional Center (DRC), Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), guardians/natural supports, and Job Developer.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not directly supervise the work of others.
