Opportunity Village is seeking a Senior Facility Technician to join our Las Vegas team. This role maintains and repairs complex building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable facilities maintenance experience.
  • EPA Universal certification or ability to obtain within six months.
  • HVAC course completion or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Forklift certification within three months of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration).

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, this position serves as a technical resource, helping ensure safe, functional, and welcoming environments across all Opportunity Village campuses.

The Senior Facility Technician performs and coordinates advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, carpentry, and painting, as well as preventive maintenance. This role provides day-to-day technical support by coordinating complex repairs and preventive maintenance activities, supporting facility improvement projects, and serving as the primary technical resource for challenging maintenance issues.

Through hands-on maintenance, proactive planning, and technical leadership, this position directly contributes to safe and accessible spaces for program participants, team members, and visitors, helping Opportunity Village deliver its mission every day.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
  • Perform and coordinate advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, central plant, mechanical, and other building systems across all Opportunity Village facilities.
  • Lead the planning, prioritization, and execution of preventive maintenance (PM) programs across all campuses, including the Magical Forest, ensuring work is completed according to schedules, manufacturer specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support, sharing best practices, assisting with complex troubleshooting, and serving as the department's subject matter expert for building systems, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex problems with air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems.
  • Conduct repair and maintenance on specialized or industrial equipment, including heavy facility maintenance equipment.
  • Coordinate and perform maintenance activities across multiple Opportunity Village campuses to ensure consistency in maintenance standards, equipment reliability, and facility readiness.
  • Support planning and coordination of facilities-related needs for special events and fundraising activities.
  • Serve as a resource and escalation point for complex facilities issues while providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the Facilities Supervisor with project planning, vendor coordination, and reviewing bids for repair or maintenance work.
  • Monitor and help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and organizational safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
  • Must meet all requirements of OV vehicle policies and travel:
    • Between work site locations
    • Within the community
  • Drive company vehicles to transport parts, supplies, and equipment; operate aerial lifts, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not directly supervise OV team members but will guide, train, and mentor others based on areas of expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable experience in facilities maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and general building repair.
  • Preferred: Minimum of one (1) year of HVAC experience, including complex diagnostics and repair.
  • Required: EPA Universal certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Required: HVAC Course Completion or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Required: Forklift certification obtained within three (3) months of hire.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance requirements.
  • Preferred: Additional trade certifications (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Plumbing License, or Building Maintenance Certification).
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
