A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Introduces and maintains processes, tools, and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle.
• Conducting requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interfaces between hardware and software, and the overall software characteristics.
• Applies knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing.
• Engages with Systems teams on development, testing and deployment technologies for developing automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Facilitates collaboration among different experts and across toolchains to realize process efficiency.
• Supports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities.
• Responds to scope changes and codes software enhancements, including cloud-based or internet-related tools.

TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

• Autonomy: Seasoned individual contributor. Works independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approach to solutions. Coaches and reviews the work of lower level specialists; may manage projects/processes.

• Innovation and Complexity: Problems and issues faced are difficult, and may require understanding of multiple issues, job areas or specialties. Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
