Job Description

About the role:

We are looking for a DevOps engineer who is passionate about stability, observability, and automation. We build products that help our customers catch fraud and keep their customers' money safe. When Unit21 experiences service interruptions, this can lead to financial loss for our customers and their customers. This requires attention to detail and a focus on efficient operations.

What you will be doing:

1. Deploy new infrastructure and maintain existing ones
2. Provide guidance to other teams on infrastructure best practices
3. Lead and drive projects to completion
4. Reviewing pull requests, internal and external to team
5. Automate anything and everything
6. Work with related data infrastructure technologies
7. Develop and deploy efficient and elegant code

What we're looking for:

1. BS, MS or Ph.D in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related field is required.
2. 5+ years of experience in Python/Go/Rust.
3. 3+ years of experience in AWS and Terraform
4. 3+ years hosting and maintaining a Kubernetes cluster
5. 1+ years of FinOps experience
6. Hands-on experience deploying large scale applications in multiple environments
7. Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles including software design, source control management, build processes, automated deployments, code reviews, testing methods

Bonus Points!

1. Experience managing large-scale critical production systems with minimum SLAs of 4 9's
2. Experience hosting Spark clusters
3. Experience hosting Observability tools such as Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus

Compensation:

The standard base pay range for this role is $170,000 - $186,000 Annually. This base pay range does not include variable compensation including potential commissions, bonuses or other financial or equity incentives.
