Job description

Our client is a mission-driven series B scale-up that is pioneering a whole new SaaS category - FactoryOps. They are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who is always striving for more: more ways to better themselves, the company, and those around them.

What you’ll do

As a Senior DevOps Engineer for our client, you will be primarily responsible for:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Developing, optimizing, and managing CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and ensure high application availability.

  • Implementing and managing container orchestration using Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm to support scalable microservices architectures.

  • Enhancing system observability and performance monitoring using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.

  • Automating operational tasks, system monitoring, and cloud resource management with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go.

  • Implementing and enforcing security best practices across cloud infrastructure, including secrets management, policy as code, and cloud security tools.

  • Supporting and improving GitOps methodologies and modern deployment strategies such as blue-green, canary, and feature flag releases.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps best practices into software development and IT operations.

Tech Stack

The client’s stack includes the following technologies: Typescript, Node, Vue, PostgreSQL, Redis, Google Cloud.

Who we want

The ideal Senior DevOps Engineer will have a proven track record of success across the following areas:

  • 7+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering role with a strong focus on orchestration, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code (IaC).

  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, but AWS or Azure also accepted), including Kubernetes and container orchestration with Docker and Helm.

  • Proven experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.

  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, or Pulumi.

  • Strong focus on monitoring, observability, and performance optimization using Prometheus, Grafana, Stackdriver, or Datadog.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of security best practices for DevOps, including secrets management, policy as code, and cloud security tooling.

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.

  • Experience with GitOps methodologies and modern deployment strategies like blue-green, canary, and feature flags.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud-based systems.

  • Strong ability to develop API integrations with external systems.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a remote, fast-paced team environment.

What’s in it for you?

This opportunity offers a compelling mix of impact, ownership, and professional growth. Some of the top reasons to consider this role:

  • Work with cutting-edge software technologies, including the latest in machine learning and big data, on a constant stream (terabytes/week) of time-series machine data.

  • Develop core technology for a product-first startup in a high-impact, fast-paced environment.

  • Take a leadership role on a small international founding team of engineers, helping shape the tools and systems that support the client’s mission.

  • Participate in the full product development cycle—from prioritization and design to deployment and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with a purpose-driven team at a company on track toward a $10B IPO by 2030, making a tangible impact on both the global economy and the environment.

  • Join at a pivotal stage in building the FactoryOps layer for global manufacturing and contribute to a business with generational potential.

  • Receive equity in the company through a generous employee equity program—ensuring that every team member shares in the success.

Additional benefits include:

  • Fair & equitable pay: Annual on-target earnings for this role are in the range of $170,000–$185,000 USD for domestic hires. For candidates outside the US, compensation will reflect local market conditions. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and role alignment.

  • 100% remote culture: Work from wherever, whenever. The client trusts their team to deliver great results with full autonomy.

  • Flexible PTO policy: Encouraging balance and boundaries, with time away from screens viewed as essential for performance and well-being.

  • Generous equity: All team members receive equity in the business. When the client wins, so does the whole team.

  • Health benefits: A variety of health plan options from day one - select the one that best fits your needs.

  • Additional perks: Includes 401k (up to 4% match), $500 home office setup stipend, parental leave, company-provided laptop, retirement plan, paid holidays, and optional travel to spend time with teammates in person.
