Sr. Development Engineer – Chaska, MN
Position Overview
Lead the development of electric motors, including design, tooling, testing, and troubleshooting of prototypes and low‑rate builds. Work closely with engineering, program management, and quality teams to interpret drawings, develop components, analyze test data, and ensure accuracy, reliability, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, and modify electronic systems, prototypes, and components using hand tools and equipment.
- Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot circuits and equipment; analyze test data, report findings, and identify failures.
- Interpret and develop engineering drawings, create schematics, suggest design improvements, and resolve technical issues.
- Design and develop tooling and equipment solutions to support assigned projects.
- Maintain detailed records, write reports, document technical details, and manage inventory.
- Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to discuss project needs, design changes, and technical solutions.
- Present and negotiate technical trades to balance cost, reliability, quality, and performance.

Education & Experience
- B.S. in Engineering or equivalent; advanced technical degree desirable.
- 4+ years of related development experience (aerospace preferred).
- Strong knowledge of electric motor test equipment and BLDC motor systems.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to debug complex systems and troubleshoot issues.
- High attention to detail for quality control, testing, and documentation.
- Effective communication with engineers, managers, and technicians.
- Experience with 3D printing.
- Configure ERP system routings, work instructions, and quality control activities.
Work Environment
- Typical manufacturing environment (machine shop, assembly, testing).
- Use of PPE such as eye, hearing, and foot protection.
- Temperature may vary; travel up to 5‑15%.
- Flexible and extra hours may be required.
Compensation
Pay Range: $110,000 – $130,000 per year. This position is at our Chaska, MN office.
