Job description

As a Sr. DevOps Engineer on our Clinical Diagnostics team, you will monitor notifications about any potential infrastructure and application issues (production environment first then non-production environment) and take appropriate actions. You will also address (by priority) work requests in Jira to collaboratively support cross-functional DEV, QE, and IT teams, while continuing to work on project milestones in adherence to planned deliverables and their timelines.

Position is remote; consideration will be for candidates in Southern California as there may be occasional travel to the Irvine office.

How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Work collaboratively with agile feature teams to support our applications through the full software lifecycle: create modern CI/CD pipelines, deploy and manage AWS infrastructure, set up automations, monitoring, and health checks.
  • Recommend and implement best practices for application support in all environments.
  • Continuously manage the configuration of all environments and microservices.
  • Thoroughly document changes, processes, and practices.
  • Drive a mindset of efficiency, scalability, security, and reliability to solve cutting-edge technical challenges that have real impact on healthcare quality.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of advanced level DevOps patterns in cloud-native AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, ELB, CloudWatch, VPC, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, DMS, Systems Manager, Lambda, ECS, CloudFront, API Gateway, Route53, SQS, SES, SNS, Bedrock).
  • Experience with GitHub (or equivalent), CloudFormation (or equivalent), GitHub Actions (or equivalent), Jira (or equivalent), and managing Windows and Linux workloads (admin, scripting), along with strong knowledge of databases and network protocols.
  • Experience with Blue Green and Canary deployments/rollouts.
  • Ability to quickly and independently learn new tech stacks and implement them.
  • Long-term thinker who is committed to excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.
