SR. DEV OPS ENGINEER
REMOTE: ANYWHERE WEST COAST PREFERRED (PST)
This is a senior technical role at the intersection of infrastructure, reliability, and software delivery. It involves ensuring seamless operations, enhancing system reliability, and accelerating software deployment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, automating processes, and driving continuous improvement are expected.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure components using infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
- Optimize resource allocation, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual effort.
- Set up monitoring tools to track system health.
- Define and measure SLIs and SLOs.
- Monitor application performance, latency, and resource utilization.
- Create alerts and dashboards for actionable insights.
- Automate incident response, monitoring, and alerting.
- Implement security best practices, controls, vulnerability assessments, and access management.
- Manage cloud resources on AWS and Azure platforms.
- Optimize cost and performance in cloud environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software delivery.
- Collaborate with development teams on testing and deployment automation.
- Promote a culture of continuous integration and delivery.
- Mentor and guide other DevOps engineers.
- Coordinate between development, operations, and other teams.
- Communicate technical insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Participate actively in the DevOps Community of Practice.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (GDPR, SOC 1, etc.).
- Diagnose and resolve production incidents efficiently.
- Lead issue triage for client support.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for client success teams.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field required; Master’s preferred.
- AWS/Azure certifications preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT, systems engineering, software engineering, or DevOps.
- Expertise in DevOps practices and automation tools (Terraform, Git, Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
- Experience with vulnerability scanners, cloud services, containerization, Windows, Active Directory, VMware, and compliance standards.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.), and team collaboration skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Full-time, 40 hours/week, with flexibility for nights and weekends.
- Requires a suitable workspace with ergonomic setup and reliable internet.
- May involve exposure to noise, early/late meetings, and occasional evening/weekend duties.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
- Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 15 pounds, and operate a computer for extended periods.
