Job summary

Moog, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer to join our Space Actuation team. The role focuses on translating complex requirements into models, layouts and drawings, and collaborating with systems, project and quality engineering teams.

Based onsite in Buffalo/East Aurora, NY, you will work with MCAD tools (Siemens NX) and PLM (Teamcenter), ensuring GD&T compliance and tight design integrity for aerospace applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years in design engineering in a complex manufacturing environment; Aerospace experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices.
  • Experience communicating with the technical community including customers and vendors.
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge with mechanical CAD (MCAD) tools.
  • Practical knowledge and/or experience with technical drawing practices and GD&T standards.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience with Siemens NX MCAD design software and Teamcenter PLM is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Translating complex project requirements emanating from a variety of sources, creating computer models, layouts, detailed engineering drawings.
  • Overseeing technical design, implementation, or delivery of projects, processes, or programs.
  • Contributing to a cost-effective design and functional products by working closely with systems/project/quality engineering teams.
  • Creating and checking detail drawings for completeness and accuracy, ensures the Bill of Material (Parts List) for product design is accurate and complete.
  • Ensure basic integrity of designs and layouts using correctness of proportionality, sizing, dimensional accuracy, and tolerance limits.
  • Suggesting or specifying materials to conform to design requirements and assist in the selection of acceptable processing procedures.

Our Space Actuation team in East Aurora, NY is looking for a Sr. Design Engineer to join their dynamic team! As a Sr. Design Engineer, you will be a key member of Moog’s Space Actuation team, reporting to the Sr. Mechanical Design Engineering Manager.

To be considered for this Sr. Design Engineer role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in design engineering in a complex manufacturing environment; Aerospace industry experience strongly preferred

Salary Range Transparency: Buffalo, NY $95,000.00–$140,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
