Compensation Range:

$70,600.00 - $105,800.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

The Center for Community Health & Prevention works to create environments that support healthy behaviors, encompassing a variety of programs and initiatives aimed at preventing disease to create a healthier community. The Center for Community Health & Prevention’s Teen Health and Success Partnership (THSP) program matches local high school students with employment opportunities at the University of Rochester and provides hiring and employment assistance to support students’ long-term career success. The THSP aims to provide local students with the vision and job skills for a range of educational and career options after graduation, and enables URochester departments to employ well-prepared youth from the local community. The THSP is one of many STEM K–12 pipeline initiatives across URochester Medicine.

Under general supervision of the Director of Workforce Navigation and K–12 Pipeline Initiatives, the Senior Program Specialist provides strategic administrative support, oversight, and technical assistance for a portfolio of youth programs across URochester Medicine, including the Teen Health & Success Partnership. This role is responsible for leading program evaluation, comprehensive data monitoring, and ensuring alignment with institutional goals, while fostering collaboration and best practices among various youth initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Data Monitoring & Program Evaluation
  • Leads the design and implementation of data monitoring systems to track key performance indicators and outcomes across all supported youth programs.
  • Conduct evaluations of program effectiveness, utilizing data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports and executive summaries with actionable recommendations for program adjustments for key stakeholders.
Technical Assistance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical assistance and consultative support to program coordinators and staff on best practices in youth engagement, recruitment, and compliance (e.g., child labor laws, safety guidelines, URochester policy for minors).
  • Develop and disseminate resources, tools, and training materials to enhance the operational efficiency and impact of various youth programs.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among different youth program teams to foster a unified approach to youth development.
Strategic Program Support
  • Provide strategic administrative support and guidance to existing youth programs across the medical center, ensuring their objectives align with institutional priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for program integration, expansion, and innovation by conducting needs assessments and gap analyses across the youth program portfolio.
  • Represent URochester Medicine’s youth initiatives at internal and external forums, promoting collaboration and building strategic partnerships.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Act as a point of contact for, including URochester department, URochester HR, community partners, and school administrators, regarding youth program performance and strategic direction.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of communication strategies to enhance the visibility and impact of the medical center’s youth initiatives.
Workforce Navigation
  • Provide hiring navigation guidance for the THSP program, leading pre-employment and onboarding activities for program participants.
  • Train and mentor THSP staff on best practices to assist with workforce navigation activities for program participants, ensuring they have the necessary tools and knowledge to carry out hiring activities.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong leadership and team management skills required
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills required
  • Proficiency in program evaluation and data analysis required
  • Advanced budget management and financial planning expertise preferred
