The Senior Data Quality Engineering Analyst will lead activities such as participating in requirement understanding, test planning, and reviewing test execution results. The role requires independent validation of critical business applications and driving impact across the Taco Bell business by identifying and resolving key failure points in the system landscape. The analyst will work with top business and technology minds to contribute to Taco Bell’s growth trajectory and lead their own career path in corporate. This role involves working with cutting‑edge technologies used at over 8000 Taco Bell restaurants, and offers ample opportunities to innovate in software test automation to improve validation processes. The Analyst reports to the Principal Solutions Architect, Data Platforms.
The Day-to-Day
- Understand complex business processes, technology landscapes, related requirements, and attend daily stand‑up meetings to focus on key validation areas.
- Independently drive validation needs by creating comprehensive, well‑structured test plans, test scenarios, and test cases; set up test environments; work with business analysts and developers to understand requirements and architecture; review test results of junior team members; guide them on validation approaches.
- Coordinate with key on‑site and off‑site counterparts to complete validation and certification activities within agreed project timelines.
- Identify, call out, and socialize project risks so stakeholders can make informed decisions.
- Design and implement a comprehensive data quality framework, building an automated validation framework across batch and real‑time pipelines, enforcing core quality dimensions—completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness—through checks such as schema validation, data drift and anomaly detection, referential integrity, and business rule enforcement; define and track KPIs and SLAs to continuously monitor data health.
- Embed data quality controls within pipelines, integrating validation across the full data lifecycle from ingestion through transformation to consumption, supporting both batch and streaming workloads.
- Deliver hands‑on development of automated test scripts to automate the testing process, providing solutions within stipulated timeframes.
- Track quality assurance metrics such as defect leakage, defect densities, and open defect counts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or related field.
- At least 7 years of hands‑on experience in Quality Assurance processes.
- At least 5 years of experience with AWS services, JSON and XML files, Snowflake database, etc.
- At least 3 years of test script development experience for automated validation of applications under test.
- Preferred experience validating data quality within key domains such as Restaurant Front of House, Back of House, Customer, etc.
- Strong partnership with data engineers to embed quality checks directly into pipelines.
- Knowledge of developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks for data pipelines and integrating them with CI/CD processes for continuous validation.
- Knowledge of enabling reusable validation patterns using tools like dbt, Great Expectations, or custom frameworks.
- Passion for training and grooming junior resources and expanding technical knowledge across the organization.
- Passion for learning new technology and a curiosity to collaborate with subject matter experts.

Salary Range: $--120,200 to $141,5400 annually + bonus eligibility + benefits
