Job summary

Taco Bell is seeking a Senior Data Quality Engineering Analyst to lead validation activities and shape the data quality strategy across the system landscape. The role collaborates with the Principal Solutions Architect, Data Platforms to identify and resolve key data quality issues and drive impact across the business.

The ideal candidate has extensive QA experience, strong AWS and data tech skills, and a track record of mentoring junior resources while embedding quality checks into data

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or related field.
• At least 7 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance processes.
• At least 5 years of experience with AWS services, JSON and XML files, Snowflake, and related data technologies.
• At least 3 years of test script development experience for automated validation of applications under test.
• Experience validating data quality in key domains such as Restaurant Front of House, Back of House, and Customer data.
• Strong partnership with data engineers to embed quality checks into pipelines.
• Knowledge of developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks for data pipelines and integrating with CI/CD processes for continuous validation.
• Knowledge of reusable validation patterns using tools like dbt, Great Expectations, or similar frameworks.
• Willingness to train and mentor junior resources and expand technical knowledge across the organization.
• Curiosity to learn new technologies and collaborate with subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Understand complex business processes and technology landscapes, attend daily stand-up meetings, and focus on validation priorities.
• Independently drive validation by creating comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, test cases, setting up test environments, and guiding junior team members on validation approaches.
• Coordinate with onsite and offshore counterparts to complete validation and certification activities within the project timeline.
• Identify and communicate project risks to enable informed decision-making by stakeholders.
• Design and implement a comprehensive data quality framework, including automated validation across batch and real-time pipelines, enforcing quality dimensions (completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness) with checks (schema validation, data drift, anomaly detection, referential integrity, and business rule enforcement). Define and track KPIs and SLAs to monitor data health.
• Embed data quality controls across the data lifecycle (ingestion to consumption) for both batch and streaming workloads.
• Develop automated test scripts and deliver automated test solutions within defined timeframes.
• Track quality assurance metrics such as defect leakage, defect densities, and open defect counts.

Overview
