Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced data engineer to help design and build scalable, reliable data pipelines and models across a modern cloud-based data ecosystem. The right candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering principles, advanced SQL capabilities, and hands-on experience with contemporary data architecture patterns. Familiarity with healthcare data or experience working in health tech is highly preferred.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines across structured and unstructured data sources (e.g., APIs, databases, SFTP servers).
• Optimize data workflows using cloud-native or open-source tools (e.g., dbt, Spark, Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, Dataform, etc.).
• Use medallion-style architecture (bronze, silver, gold layers) and Delta/Parquet formats where appropriate.
• Automate and orchestrate data workflows using Python and workflow schedulers.
• Collaborate closely with analytics, ML, and business teams to ensure data is high-quality, trusted, and actionable.
• Contribute to our data platform modernization efforts by evaluating and recommending tools, platforms, and best practices

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, automation, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud data stacks (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric) — no allegiance to one, just depth in some with call outs to Snowflake and Databricks
• Experience with Delta Lake, parquet-based storage, and medallion or similar architectural patterns.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling (Kimball) and semantic/canonical modeling approaches.
• Exposure to data governance and quality frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, impact-oriented mindset.
• Bonus: experience working with healthcare claims, EMR/EHR, CRM, or digital engagement data.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $135,000 based on location and experience. There is a bonus.
