Job summary

Innovative Management Concepts, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Data Center Operations Manager for completely onsite work in Honolulu, HI. The role requires DoD/USAF environment expertise and a strong focus on secure, resilient IT infrastructure management.

Mandatory qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years in DoD data centers, and active certifications (PMP, VCP, CISA, CISSP or CISM). U.S. citizenship and TS/SCI eligibility day one are required for candidacy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior-level experience in DoD data center management.
  • At start date, must possess one or more active certifications: PMP, VCP, CISA, CISSP, or CISM.
  • Strong background in network architecture/engineering, enterprise IT infrastructure, and secure data center operations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical projects within DoD or large-scale enterprise IT environments.
  • Current DoD TS/SCI clearance eligibility day one and prior to entry on duty.
  • Pursuant to government contract, U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all aspects of data center operations, including capacity management, system availability, performance optimization, and DoD RMF/ATO compliance.
  • Integrate facility management considerations into IT planning and modernization.
  • Oversee technical program and project management, including requirements, scheduling, risk, and documentation.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to military, government civilian, and contractor staff.
  • Develop and enforce documentation, SOPs, and COOP for mission assurance and rapid recovery.
  • Advise senior leadership on technologies, cloud/hybrid strategies, and cybersecurity risks.
  • Ensure cybersecurity directives (STIGs, IAVMs) compliance as part of daily operations.
  • Serve as senior technical escalation point for mission-critical issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The position will provide strategic leadership and advanced technical oversight for mission-critical data center operations supporting a high-priority federal initiative.     1. ITIL 4 Foundation or higher
    2. AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Direct all aspects of data center operations, including capacity management, system availability, performance optimization, and compliance with DoD standards and RMF/ATO requirements.
  • Integrate facility management considerations (power, cooling, cabling, and space utilization) into IT planning, modernization, and sustainment.
  • Oversee technical program and project management, including requirements definition, scheduling, configuration/change management, risk management, and documentation.
  • Provide technical training, mentorship, and oversight to military, government civilian, and contractor staff to enhance operational readiness.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce documentation, SOPs, configuration baselines, and continuity of operations plans (COOP) to ensure mission assurance and rapid recovery.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies, cloud/hybrid strategies, cybersecurity risks, and modernization initiatives affecting enterprise data center operations.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity directives (STIGs, IAVMs, DoD Cybersecurity service provider guidelines) as part of daily operations.
  • Serve as the senior technical point of escalation for mission-critical issues, coordinating with higher headquarters and joint partners as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
