Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Manager in Lisle, IL to lead a team delivering preventative maintenance and repair services in critical client environments. You will supervise staff, conduct evaluations, manage scheduling, and coordinate with the client to meet SLA requirements, while ensuring records and documentation are up to date.

The role emphasizes leadership, strong organizational skills, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver reliable data center operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
• Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
• Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
• Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
• Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
• Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
• Manage the relationship with the client while working with other stakeholders to meet all MSA requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring the completion of configuration management, work orders, preventative maintenance, and repairs within the agreed SLA timeframe.
• Resolve unforeseen circumstances that occur and inform the client or Sr. management when needed.
• Verify facility infrastructure equipment installations are within the agreed SLA timeframe.
• Oversee Information Technology equipment power installations, relocation and decommission requests.
• Check daily routine cleanup of the data halls and review findings.Confirm all deployments are installed to applicable internal, manufacturer, and industry standards.
• Ensure that all records are updated following any changes made. Ensure that documentation is also kept up to date for all applicable processes.
• Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments and present to Sr. management.
• Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
• Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.

About The Role

This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

What You’ll Need

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The maximum salary of $140,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
