Job summary

Valeris is seeking a Senior Analyst to lead advanced reporting, analyze data, and present insights to internal teams and external clients. You will work with SQL, Excel, MicroStrategy, and CRM platforms to deliver reliable, actionable reports and support data-driven decision making.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help improve data processes while ensuring compliance with data privacy rules. A strong communication skillset is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
  • 4+ years of client-facing analytics experience.
  • Experience interpreting data into insights for clients.
  • Proficient in data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehousing.

The Reporting & Analytics Team

The Reporting & Analytics team provides ongoing support and insight to external clients as well as to the internal operational leadership team.

Senior Analyst Responsibilities

The Senior Analyst must be able to review and analyze data, present conclusions in a logical and clear manner, and work effectively as part of a team. The role includes capturing data, translating it into actionable reports, and mentoring emerging leaders at Valeris.

Essential Functions
  • Advanced custom reporting
    • Manage requirements gathering, specifications development, design and build of custom production‑level reports for program ops, management, and client use.
    • Make & own deliverable commitments (substance, format, and dev time), provide timely communications regarding status or delivery challenges, and negotiate agreements when conflicts arise.
    • Communicate clearly on requested deliverables, provide timelines and recommendations based on best practices, and prioritize work by accounts as necessary.
    • Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures governing access to and distribution of PII and other confidential data.
  • Data & reporting expertise
    • Maintain up‑to‑date familiarity with Valeris’ data sources/source systems.
    • Serve as Subject Matter Expert to provide recommendations and expertise for data & reporting capabilities to assigned programs and/or clients.
    • Investigate data anomalies, communicate detailed findings to the appropriate person or group, and act as a valued partner in solution finding.
  • Work with programming environments including SQL, MS Excel, MicroStrategy, free‑form SQL, Valeris’ CRM platforms, and other applicable software or BI tools.
  • Systems & process improvement
    • Identify opportunities to develop & implement solutions that streamline operations of frequent tasks.
    • Define and coordinate with other departments to connect data and reporting in new and innovative ways to improve Valeris’ suite of products and services.
  • Leadership
    • Provide leadership and training to other team members on fundamental data mining and report creation techniques and applications.
  • Assist program staff in understanding & use of self‑service reporting tools, and the use and interpretation of Valeris’ data.
  • Be curious, unafraid to ask questions, and seek to expand your own knowledge of new tools and Valeris’ services. We’re always growing and want you to be, too.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager.
  • On‑time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures governing access to confidential data.
  • Ensure all SOPs are followed with consistency.
  • Conduct miscellaneous tasks or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Must have 4+ years of client‑facing experience.
  • Experience interpreting data and presenting meaningful, client‑ready business insights.
  • Experience in data extraction, manipulation, analysis, reporting, and use of data visualization tools.
  • Understanding of dimensional data modeling concepts and data warehousing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to elicit and fine‑tune requirements and respond to/manage changes.
  • Solid technical writing skills; ability to clearly and completely articulate work to be done and describe tasks using proper terminology.
  • Extensive use of SQL/SQL Server for reporting, problem solving, & investigative work, and query optimization.
  • Med‑Advanced use of Excel for reporting & discovery (identify trends, interpret issues, find disparities).
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, health care, insurance, direct marketing, or finance is highly desirable.
