Job description

Role Overview

The Senior Analyst, Office of the CEO is the analytical engine of the executive office. You will take questions from the CEO and the executive leadership team, find the data required to answer them, reconcile it across inconsistent sources, form a defensible point of view on what it means, and deliver that answer in a form leadership can act on immediately.

This is not a reporting role. Producing the number is the entry price. The value is in telling us what the number means, where it disagrees with another number, and what you would do about it. You will be expected to take positions, defend them, and be clear about where your confidence is low.

Beyond analysis, you will manage discrete initiatives that matter to the CEO but do not warrant a dedicated program manager, and you will share responsibility for the operational continuity of the executive office.

This is a high-visibility, high-trust seat with unusual exposure for the level. You will work directly with the CEO, CFO, COO, and CIO, and with the board, and you will see financial, acquisition, and strategic material before most of the organization does. For the right person, this is a launching pad into finance, corporate development, operations leadership, or a chief of staff track.

Key Responsibilities
Analysis and Insight
  • Translate open-ended executive questions into a defined analytical scope, then execute against it independently
  • Gather, structure, and reconcile financial, operational, sales, and customer data from multiple ERP, CRM, and legacy hub systems
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between sources, and document which source is authoritative and why
  • Build and maintain analytical models covering revenue, recurring monitoring revenue, margin, headcount productivity, backlog, pipeline, and customer profitability
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior period, and explain the drivers rather than restating the delta
  • Deliver a clear recommendation with every analysis, including the assumptions it rests on and the conditions that would change it
  • Conduct ad hoc research on markets, competitors, acquisition targets, and industry benchmarks
Executive Reporting and Presentation
  • Produce board-quality decks, memos, and reporting packages that are complete, accurate, and require no rework
  • Own recurring executive reporting products end to end, including monthly and quarterly business review materials
  • Build data visualizations that make the point without narration, and choose the chart that tells the truth rather than the chart that looks best
  • Maintain version control, source documentation, and an audit trail for every number that reaches the board
  • Support preparation for board meetings, lender reporting, and investor communications
Project Management
  • Own cross-functional initiatives sponsored by the CEO that are too small to staff formally, driving them from definition to completion
  • Build and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, and status reporting
  • Coordinate work across corporate functions and operating brands without direct authority over the participants
  • Escalate blockers early and with a recommended path forward
  • Support post-acquisition integration workstreams, including data consolidation, reporting alignment, and synergy tracking
  • Support diligence efforts on active acquisition targets
Executive Office Continuity
  • Serve as continuity coverage for the CEO's calendar, scheduling, and travel when the Executive Assistant is out of office or otherwise unavailable, ensuring the executive office does not go dark
  • Coordinate logistics for executive and board meetings, including materials distribution and follow-up tracking
  • Track executive action items and commitments to closure
  • Handle confidential financial, acquisition, personnel, and strategic information with absolute discretion
  • Build durable working relationships with finance, operations, IT, and hub leadership
  • Contribute to the definition of Zeus's future analytics and reporting architecture as the ERP program matures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, corporate strategy, FP&A, or a comparable analytical role
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex modeling, large dataset manipulation, and structured model design
  • Working proficiency in SQL for data extraction and reconciliation
  • Demonstrated ability to build executive-level PowerPoint materials that stand on their own
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
  • Track record of managing projects to completion in a cross-functional environment without formal authority
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to brief a senior executive concisely
  • Demonstrated sound judgment in handling confidential information
  • Ability to manage several competing priorities under real deadlines
