Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Critical Operations Engineer II to operate and maintain mission-critical electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems in a Reston, VA data center. You will push for uptime, manage incidents, and mentor teammates.

The role emphasizes collaboration with technicians, vendors, and customers, with a Day Shift Tue–Sat schedule and a strong safety/operational excellence culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or higher.
• 2–5 years data center experience with electrical/mechanical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and safety focus.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced, high‑availability environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical data center electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Perform facility inspections, respond to abnormal conditions, and document findings.
• Track, trend, and analyze system performance; manage work orders and maintenance via CMMS.
• Provide advanced remote hands, manage trouble tickets, incidents, and customer requests.
