Job summary

Popular Bank in Miami Lakes, FL is seeking a Sr. Credit Analyst to underwrite new commercial requests and renewals, including the bank's most complex cases, and to perform annual financial reviews of existing relationships.

You will collaborate with Commercial Loan Officers and the credit department leadership to identify risks, ensure policy compliance, and present findings to loan committees; mentor staff and develop portfolio analytics for HLTV and stress tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year college.
• Five or more years of commercial credit experience, preferably within a bank environment.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting and legal principles underlying the bank's documents.
• Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office Programs.
• Experience in lease administration database, SAP system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform review of appraisals and real estate evaluations. Monitor and test loan covenants for existing credit relationships.
• Work collaboratively with Commercial Loan Officers and the credit department leadership to ensure that credit risks are identified and credited to credit approvers and loan committees.
• Ensure that all exceptions to the bank's lending policy are noted and noted that the proper level of approval is for all requests based on requirements in the bank's lending policy.
• Provide training and mentoring of staff for promotion and enhancement, developing enhanced independence in all aspects, particularly relating to more complex credits.
• Develop continually advancing portfolio analytics, including high loan to value (HLTV), policy tracking, and stress testing. When appropriate, make presentations to the bank's various loan committees.
• Contribute to recommendations for the loan loss.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the bank's lending policy, as well as interagency regulations.
