Sr. Manager, Producer – Studio Team
Our Sr. Manager, Producer is a critical part of telling our story to the world. They drive the execution of our brand and product storytelling for our website, social, text and email as well as create all the content that our customer sees in paid media including video and TV. They will collaboratively create video and photography in our studio and on location partnering with external and internal teams to bring innovative stories to life for every marketing channel.
They will be the face of the studio team; collaborating with marketing operations, creative, marketing, agencies, freelancers and business leads to create compelling video and photo content that tells a great story. They are the primary coordinator and driver of all production including managing studio production staff, freelance and budgets to achieve the best possible output. The Sr. Manager, Producer functions as the key point-person for tracking budgets & delivery timelines assureing both are met while maintaining the highest standards. This person will serve as the hub for all project information and status between the strategy, content, marketing, operations and photo studio team. They will demonstrate a high level of efficiency and effectiveness in driving results and problem solving.The ideal candidate will have strongorganizational skills, be detail oriented and possess the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
What You Do
- Creates, improves, and manages the systems and processes for content production for the brand following concept approval through delivery of still assets and raw video files.
- Develops and maintains resource plans for photo shoots according to the creative needs and within the budget and scope.
- Owns and manages the multimillion-dollar studio and content budget, invoicing, billing, tracking and reporting with finance and Marketing leadership.
- Determines the photo studio and shoot schedules collaborating with partners, channels, and agencies to deliver assets to meet deadlines.
- Leads production with agencies and outside production resources on when needed for larger projects including location, video, and television production.
- Collaborates with the creative team to create timelines and workflow to allow for creative exploration while staying within budget and timeline.
- Develops, hires, and maintains a network and contact list of photography related resources to supplement the in-house studio as needed.
- Directs the team to adapt to the needs of the brand, constantly drives improvement in both the efficiency and quality of the work.
- Owns the timeline, workflow, cadence, and delivery of still assets and raw video files between the photo studio, creative teams, & strategy team.
- Partners with the marketing operations team to create and maintain a consistent flow of information between the studio team, creative team & strategy team for delivery timelines.
- Negotiates, tracks and maintains usage rights for all assets and talent captured, union and non-union assuring compliance.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to share information and requirements.
- Creates & maintains a budget for the photo studio.
- Maintains tracker of all studio expenses, manage accruals and interface with accounting and finance on budget forecasts.
- Alert teams when certain requests are outside scope for budget & problem solve solutions accordingly.
- In partnership with the studio project manager identify and implement opportunities for process efficiencies and organization – project workflows, folder structure, project initiation forms, project management tools.
- Identify dependencies, conflicts, risks, delays or any other unusual situations and work to resolve these matters efficiently to limit disruption.
- Maintains a strong leadership presence for both direct reports and cross functional partners
- Manages 1 or more direct reports and supervises 10-20 freelance resources on productions.
- Manages external agency and production houses as needed.
- Maintain effective and on-going communications and relationships with internal cross-functional teams.
- Develop and execute an efficient internal communication strategy to ensure communication with marketing leaders and other functional areas.
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to team(s) and stakeholders.
- Leads out as the voice of the studio to leadership on budget, capabilities and forecasted workload.
- Manages day-to-day timeline and budget communications with studio team, merchandising teams, content/design team, & strategy team.
- Update weekly team status documents and distribute hot sheets to keep projects and priorities moving forward.
what You Need
- Computer Skills with an especially high proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Experience with Workfront (or similar software) highly desired.
- Detail oriented, deadline driven and organized individual able to handle multiple tasks while working independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical and proven problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to meeting daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines regardless of the obstacles .
- Highly motivated and dedicated to contributing to the growth and success of the company.
- Instill best practices in project planning, execution and efficiencies .
- Pursue excellence in all aspects of the business.
- Expert knowledge in discipline and industry and convey knowledge to others.
- 8-10 years of experience in photo/video productions both small (Social) and large scale (TV/Print) preferably in an agency, full time studio or production house.
- 4-5 years of producer or project management experience.
- Familiarity of photo industry standards & rates to confidently & accurately project budgets and bids
- Computer proficiency and ability to work in a corporate environment and be comfortable working on set or location.
- Successfully manage multiple projects and productions, simultaneously in a long term “always on” environment.
- Ability to travel when necessary (i.e. locally, regionally, and beyond).
- Strong Communication skills at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with direct reports, freelancers, clients, and cross functional partners.
- Ability to multitask & be extremely organized with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with ability to make quick decisions in a very fast paced ever-evolving environment.
- Adjust and make changes with a spirit of collaboration and cooperation.
- Ability to work extended hours when necessary. (i.e. evenings and weekends).
- Work closely and collaboratively with creative team: Photographers, Art Directors, Merchants as well as Marketing team and buying offices and external agencies and resources.
