Job Summary:
- Assist in developing and implementing requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs, and reports.
- Assist in preparing cost data for projects, proposals, and contract negotiations.
- Manage scope changes.
- Define scope requirements for disciplines or specialties and coordinate data production with Engineering and other sources to conform to the overall estimate preparation plan.
- Develop quantity takeoffs for disciplines or specialties using defined documents or scope assumptions, and verify quantities provided by others.
- Develop and apply unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs and other developed quantities within a discipline or specialty.
- Prepare specific budgets following prescribed standards and procedures.
- Coordinate and prepare cost reports.
- Collect and classify cost engineering data.
- Perform data analysis and development.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor/Manager.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Knowledge of capital and service costs.
- Knowledge of scope change management.
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes.
- Proficiency in multiple discipline-specific software applications.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and provide innovative solutions to cost problems.
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems, controller account codes, and understanding of Project Controls, including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Data.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with 7-10 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in basic software applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Leadership and organizational skills.
- Cost engineering/project management certification preferred; if not held, eligible to attain within one year of employment.
- Ability to travel occasionally to Wiesbaden, Germany.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
- Work typically performed in a remote, office environment.
- Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
- Walking and climbing on construction sites may be involved.
- Occasional travel to Wiesbaden, Germany.
