Role Summary

The Sr. Controls Engineer will lead electrical and controls activities on new equipment projects, from concept to implementation, supporting standards, vendor selection, validation, and training. The role involves managing multiple projects across North America, focusing on controls systems including SCADA, RFID, and AI, and developing JBPCO’s control system standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as a subject matter expert in machine control architecture, logic, and programming.
2. Collaborate with automation teams to reduce risks and improve manufacturing processes.
3. Lead controls standards development and participate in technological advancements.
4. Manage projects, troubleshoot systems, and upgrade controls hardware/software.
5. Train and mentor staff, ensure safety compliance, and promote technical innovation.

Qualifications

1. Extensive experience in controls engineering (15+ years), with a Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
2. Proficiency in PLCs, HMI, robotics, vision systems, and programming languages like Studio5000, Python, etc.
3. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
4. Willingness to travel between Reading, PA, and Houston, TX, with a valid driver’s license and passport.
