Schneider Electric’s Power Systems Division North America Operations has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to assume the role of Sr. Continuous Improvement Engineer supporting our Medium Voltage Project Engineering Team.
Overview:
The Medium Voltage Project Engineering Team, responsible for providing engineered-to-order solutions for customer projects at Smyrna & Mt. Juliet manufacturing facilities, seeks a Sr. Continuous Improvement Engineer. This position is responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts across a diverse landscape, aligning front-office and back-office people, processes, and technology to transform our Project Engineering domain to gain consistency in practices and customer experience worldwide, while optimizing across operations, specialized support, system-wide governance, and continuous improvement.
What do you get to do in this position?
- Functional workstream leader for project engineering domain with a focus on end-to-end order execution excellence
- Serve as the primary point of contact within the project execution domain to effectively resolve barriers, implement solutions, and support continuous improvement.
- Provide experience and exposure opportunities to leverage the Electrifier community & sharing of ideas and leveraging best practices by leading the OE Communities of Practice
- Serve as the Quality champion for their location to analyze order change notification (OCN) data and identify quality initiatives to deliver end-to-end engineering quality and customer satisfaction.
- Audit/Lead Schneider Production Systems (SPS) Front End activities for the team
- Identify training & development needs across the total engineering domain
- Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria (based upon SPS principles) for obtaining results
- Work across several lines of business with multiple stakeholders
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships across all levels of the organization
- Utilize Lean skills to address complex process opportunities with simple solutions
- Identify constraints to achieving goals and collaborate to find and implement effective solutions
- Align Order Execution processes across all project engineering teams
- Input into our future tools, processes, business transformation projects (Titan, SE Advantage, ACE OE, SEE XP, Central Scheduling/Loading)
Primary Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science, preferably within an Engineering-based discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial), but will consider Business, Computer Science, or other related technical fields
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Order/Application Engineer with ETO products
- In-depth understanding of the end-to-end ETO business processes, tools, and applications
- Significant knowledge and experience within Project Engineering with proven success managing large orders, complex projects, and key accounts responsibility
- Demonstrated business acumen, time, and priority management skills
- Ability to drive process and culture change in a mature organization with success in leading improvement activities and delivering results
- Collaborative, proactive, able to adapt to a dynamic and fast-changing environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple demands and assignments in parallel, prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and develop action plans to eliminate barriers using problem-solving tools
- Self-directed, reliable, and results-oriented individual who drives results through themselves and others, positively impacting KPIs
