Overview:

Sentara Healthcare is seeking an experienced Senior Process Improvement Engineer to join our team.

This position is remote with the ability to travel to Sentara locations for onsite project activities as needed. The position is based in Virginia Beach, VA.

Make significant changes in clinical, operational, or transformational processes with a strategic or operational focus. The Sr. Engineer will:

  • Support senior leaders by identifying opportunities for improvement, organizing resources, selecting and implementing the appropriate improvement methodology, and ensuring projects are conducted successfully.
  • Manage multiple projects for multiple leaders simultaneously and prioritize to meet tight timelines.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the change process, including financial, operational, and human resource perspectives, facilitating radical changes in technology, processes, and people.
  • The primary goal is to help the organization maintain cost discipline and reduce costs, with secondary goals of helping operational leaders solve problems, design efficient and effective processes, and improve costs, quality, safety, or revenue.

Education:

  • Master's degree required.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 years of process improvement/healthcare management experience required or must understand the operational, financial, and human resource implications of large-scale change efforts.
  • Previous successful experience with large-scale change efforts required.
  • Strong experience in project management and process improvement, combined with proactive leadership skills.
  • Must have stellar communication abilities and a proven track record of developing solutions in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
