Job description

Sentara Healthcare is seeking an experienced Senior Process Improvement Engineer to join our team

This position is remote with the ability to travel to Sentara locations for onsite project activities as needed. It is based in Virginia Beach, VA.

Make significant changes in clinical, operational, or transformational processes with a strategic or operational focus. The Sr. Engineer will:

1. Support senior leaders by identifying opportunities for improvement, organizing resources, selecting and implementing the appropriate improvement methodology, and ensuring successful project execution.
2. Manage multiple projects for various leaders simultaneously, prioritizing to meet tight deadlines.
3. Be responsible for all aspects of the change process, including financial, operational, and human resource perspectives, facilitating radical changes in technology, processes, and people.
4. The primary goal is to help the organization maintain cost discipline and reduce costs, with secondary goals of assisting operational leaders in solving problems, designing efficient and effective processes, and improving costs, quality, safety, or revenue.

Education

• Master's degree required

Certification/Licensure

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred

Experience

• At least 5 years of process improvement and healthcare management experience, with a thorough understanding of the operational, financial, and human resource implications of large-scale change efforts.
• Previous successful experience with large-scale change initiatives required.
• Strong experience in both project management and process improvement, combined with proactive leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of developing solutions collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
