Job summary

F5 Networks, Inc invites engineers to design and maintain internal automation tools, while building AI-powered solutions to improve delivery, diagnostics, and operator efficiency.

You will automate repetitive tasks, contribute to security deployments, and own end-to-end integrations from configuration to go-live support, collaborating across teams and leveraging F5 platforms.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in programming and scripting (Python, Terraform) and building internal tools.
• Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, IaC, containers or orchestration.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and integrating AI tools, APIs, or LLM-based workflows.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, HTML, and web service delivery.
• Expertise in at least two areas: WAF, Bot Management, Load Balancing/Proxy, Cloud Networking/Operations, Data Center Infrastructure, L3–L7 DDoS, CDN.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• Foundational networking and security knowledge with growth toward Layer 7 tech.

• Continuously identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve tooling across the delivery lifecycle.

• Lead and/or contribute to the implementation of enterprise security and delivery solutions for F5 customers.

• Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customers on web security and related technologies.

• Own end-to-end delivery of technical integrations, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and go-live support.

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across customer environments, infrastructure, and tooling layers.

• Identify potential technical risks and proactively define mitigation strategies.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely and high-quality solution delivery.

• Leverage F5 tools and platforms for implementation, automation, and API enablement.

• Contribute to the development and standardization of processes, tooling, and best practices to improve delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

• Capture and share field learnings to strengthen internal knowledge and continuous improvement.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency in programming and scripting (Python, Terraform), with demonstrated experience building internal tools, automation scripts, CLIs, or developer utilities.

• Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization, or orchestration.

• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and experience integrating AI tools, APIs, or LLM-based workflows into operational processes.

• Strong understanding of core internet technologies, including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, HTML, and related web service delivery components.

• In-depth technical expertise in at least two of the following areas: Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Bot Management, Load Balancing/Proxy, Cloud Networking/Operations, Data Center Infrastructure, L3–L7 DDoS protection, and CDN.

• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, Azure, or AWS).

• Foundational experience in networking and network security, with a career progression toward deep expertise in Layer 7 technologies.

• Experience integrating solutions within complex environments, preferably in the software or cybersecurity industry.

• Background in Solutions Engineering or Professional Services, supporting large-scale enterprise customers.

• Experience in technical roles involving web operations, incident response, customer support, system monitoring, or similar functions.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities, with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex issues.

• Excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer relationship management.

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Networks, Information Systems, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
