Job summary

TAK Broadband is seeking a Sr Construction Manager to join our Columbus, IN team. You will lead and manage all aspects of utility construction for telecom projects, overseeing site planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.

This role requires extensive supervisory experience, a strong safety focus and the ability to coordinate with contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders. You may work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of total relevant experience including supervisory/leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or relevant field; or equivalent work experience.
  • OSHA 10 certification a plus.
  • Knowledge of telecom construction: Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, map reading.
  • Experience with aerial and underground construction.
  • Knowledge of network operations and inventory for RF and fiber networks.
  • Experience in estimating, bidding projects and change orders.
  • Strong problem solving and field troubleshooting.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and adaptable to learning new software.
  • Excellent communication, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.
  • Valid government-issued photo ID; driver’s license if driving.
  • Pre-employment checks (MVR, Background, Drug Screen).

We are seeking a Sr Construction Manager to join our team in Columbus, IN. In this role you will lead and manage all aspects of utility construction for various types of telecom projects overseeing site planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation.

The Role
  • Lead and manage all aspects of utility construction for various types of telecom projects
  • Oversee site planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource allocation
  • Supervise and coordinate onsite construction activities, ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes and safety regulations
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues or risks and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Manage relationships with external contractors, vendors and suppliers, ensure alignment with project requirements and company standards
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, construction drawings, permits and change orders
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, provide regular updates on project status, milestones and budgetary considerations
  • Implement and enforce best practices for construction quality control, safety protocol and environmental compliance
  • Work a flexible schedule with varied hours; some evenings and weekends as needed
Requirements
  • 12+ years of total relevant experience including significant experience in a supervisory/leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or relevant field of study; or equivalent work experience
  • OSHA 10 certification a plus
  • Knowledge and prior work experience in telecom construction industry - Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, map reading, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground construction
  • Practical knowledge of Network operations and associated inventory for both RF and fiber networks
  • Experience in estimating, bidding projects and change order preparation
  • Problem-solving and like to troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn custom software
