Job summary

TAK Broadband is seeking an experienced Construction Manager in the Phoenix, AZ area to lead telecom construction activities within the Pre-Construction team. The role requires managing multiple projects, supervising crews, and coordinating with permitting, engineering, and logistics to maintain schedules.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of total telecommunications construction experience with supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of telecom construction processes including coax/fiber splicing, directional drilling, map reading.
  • Experience with aerial and underground construction.
  • Experience with micro trenching projects and inventory for RF and fiber networks.
  • Ability to estimate, bid projects, and prepare change orders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily construction activities across multiple projects.
  • Supervise crews and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
  • Conduct site walks, pre-construction meetings, safety audits, and closeout inspections.
  • Coordinate with permitting, engineering, real estate, and logistics teams to keep projects on track.
  • Track milestones using company tools and coordinate material deliveries and access logistics.
  • Support Director of Construction with budgets and schedules; act as escalation point for field issues.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and needs clearly to leadership and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and applicable regulations; document punch lists and closeout packages.
  • Some travel throughout the regional market (+/-25% annually).

We are seeking an experienced telecom Construction Manager in the Phoenix, AZ area and covering projects within the region for our Pre-Construction team. The Construction Manager will provide management and strategic direction for telecom construction projects and teams.

This position will have +/- 25% travel within the region to include AZ & NM but based in the Phoenix area

The Role
  • Manage daily construction activities across multiple projects
  • Supervise construction crews and subcontractors to ensure quality, compliance, and schedule adherence
  • Conduct site walks, pre-construction meetings, safety audits, and closeout inspections
  • Coordinate closely with permitting, engineering, real estate, and logistics teams to keep projects on track
  • Track project milestones using company provided tools
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging, and access logistics
  • Support the Director of Construction in maintaining project budgets and schedules
  • Serve as an on-the-ground escalation point for field issues; collaborate on resolution strategies
  • Communicate project status, risks, and needs clearly to leadership and clients
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety protocols and applicable California regulations
  • Document and verify completion of punch lists, redlines, and closeout packages
  • Some travel throughout regional market to various projects as needed (+/-25% annually)
Requirements
  • 5+ years of total telecommunications construction experience including experience in a supervisory/leadership role
  • Knowledge and prior work experience in telecom construction industry - coax splicing, fiber splicing, directional drilling, map reading, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with aerial and underground construction
  • Experience with micro trenching or micro trenching projects
  • Practical knowledge of Network operations and associated inventory for both RF and fiber networks
  • Experience in estimating, bidding projects and change-order preparation
  • Able to travel throughout regional market to various projects as needed (+/-25% annually)
  • Problem-solving and like to troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with varied hours; some evenings and weekends as needed
  • OSHA 10 certification a plus
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver's license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
