Responsibilities

  1. Perform construction inspection and reporting of concrete, earthwork, and asphalt pavement.
  2. Supervise subordinate construction inspectors and assist project management as required.
  3. Review reports, testing procedures, and documentation prepared by subordinate inspectors to ensure compliance with client policies and procedures.
  4. Assist the Project Administrator as required.
  5. Hold a valid driver's license; day and/or night work required to support the contractor's schedule.
  6. Have 4+ years' experience in construction inspection, including bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or a Civil Engineering Degree with 4 years of experience and the ability to earn additional qualifications within a year preferred.
  7. Experience in road and bridge construction inspection, material sampling and testing, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 4 - 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening required. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based on the position.

Performance Expectations

  1. Evaluate staff performance and provide input to project management.
  2. Identify training requirements and arrange for staff training.
  3. Supervise onsite team.
  4. Accurately record and report daily forms per project requirements.
  5. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, staff, and supervisors.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
  7. Proactively resolve problems at the lowest level.
  8. Adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  9. Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
  10. Submit accurate timesheets, mileage, and expense reports on time each week.
  11. Review jobsite safety daily and take immediate action to document and resolve issues.
  12. Understand OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies and follow them at all times.
  13. Maintain all required certifications and participate in training courses as needed.
  14. Understand all applicable industry standards for projects and perform tasks per standards and client requirements.
