Suncor Energy Inc. is seeking a Marine Commercial Scheduler based in Houston to steer scheduling operations for trading activity.

The role focuses on arranging transportation, developing delivery schedules, and ensuring timely communication with key stakeholders across multiple teams. The position requires 2+ years in scheduling within commodity industries, a business-related degree, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Two years’ scheduling experience in commodity industries (crude, fuel oil, refined products preferred).
• Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, economics or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with trade capture, scheduling, finance, and risk management systems.
• Specialized knowledge of various scheduling processes and commodity trade positioning.
• Strong analytical, quantitative skills and accounting acumen.
• In-depth understanding of waterborne and pipeline operational requirements.

Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements:

• Two years’ of experience in a scheduling role within appropriate commodity industries (crude, fuel oil, refined products preferred)
• Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, economics or equivalent preferred
• Experience with trade capture, scheduling, finance, and risk management systems
• Specialized knowledge and skills in a variety of scheduling processes and activities
• Strong understanding of commodity trade positioning
• Superior analytical, quantitative skills and accounting acumen
• In-depth understanding of waterborne and pipeline operational requirements

• Responsible for arranging all transportation requirements for the execution of trading activity
• Develop comprehensive delivery schedule and communicate to key stakeholders on a daily basis
• Assist in reviewing and improving processes for the department to optimize the company portfolio

Location and other Key Details:

• You will work out of the Houston office, located at 2 Allen Centre, 1200 Smith St
• This role is office based, hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
