Job summary

RADgov Inc. is seeking a senior COBOL/Visual COBOL specialist in the Blythewood area to join a Windows-based client-server environment.

The candidate will lead a technical software development team, drive analysis, design, and implementation of complex systems, and provide ongoing L3 production support for mission-critical applications. Required is 10+ years in COBOL-based business systems with Oracle SQL, strong leadership, and proven experience delivering critical software projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Visual COBOL V9+ architecture and programming experience.
• 10+ years in system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
• 10+ years developing and maintaining mission-critical Windows client-server applications.
• 10+ years leading a software development team for planning and deployment of software systems.
• 10+ years coding and testing COBOL-based business systems with Oracle SQL in a Windows client-server environment.
• 10+ years providing L3 production support.
• 10+ years collaborating with business units to develop and review specifications and ensure delivery.

Note: Candidate MUST be a CURRENT SC, NC, or GA Resident AND be willing to relocate to SC at least 5 business days prior to the start date at their own expense (Only W2)

Required Skills

• 10+ Years of Experience with Visual COBOL V9 and higher architecture and programming.
• 10+ Years of experience with computer system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation techniques and practices for developing new systems or modifying existing systems.
• 10+ Years of Experience developing and maintaining complex, mission critical applications in a Windows based Client Server environment.
• 10+ Years of Experience Leading a technical software development team in planning and deployment of software systems.
• 10+ Years of Experience coding and testing complex COBOL based business systems in an Oracle SQL database and Windows based client-server environment.
• 10+ Years Experience providing Level 3 (L3) production support
• 10+ Years Experience functioning as the primary contact with business units to develop and review business and technical specifications and ensure delivery of specified functionality.

Preferred Skills

• Oracle 19+ SQL Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET / C# development environment
• Experience working in a Governmental environment
• Preferred Certifications: Visual COBOL technical certifications.
