Job summary

DSJ Global is collaborating with a global manufacturer in the greater Philadelphia area to recruit a Senior CNC Programmer. You will develop and optimize CNC programs for advanced 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines and lathes, using Mastercam to maximize throughput and minimize cycle times.

You’ll design fixtures, work with machinists on shop-floor issues, and contribute to DFM/NPI initiatives while leading continuous improvement in quality and automation. Strong mentorship and leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CNC programming experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with Mastercam and G-Code programming.
• Experience programming CNC mills and lathes, including 4-axis and 5-axis machining.
• Deep understanding of machining processes, tooling, cutting parameters, and machine capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with plastics.
• Experience optimizing machining processes for quality, cycle time, and productivity improvements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers and CNC lathes using Mastercam.
• Create efficient machining strategies that maximize throughput, reduce cycle times, and improve overall performance.
• Design fixtures, tooling solutions, and machining processes to support new and existing products.
• Collaborate with machinists to troubleshoot programming and production issues on the shop floor.
• Support DFM initiatives and collaborate on NPI projects.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, automation, and operational excellence.
• Work with software vendors and post-processor developers to streamline workflows and improve machine performance.
• Evaluate, specify, and implement new CNC equipment, tooling, and manufacturing technologies.
• Program and support automated manufacturing systems, including robotics, cobots, and part-handling equipment.
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor for programmers, operators, and manufacturing personnel.
