Job summary

Texas Instruments in Sherman, TX seeks an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to drive improvements in CMP and wet processing for high-volume 300mm wafer fabs. You will develop new processes, support ramp, and mentor technicians while collaborating across functions to optimize yield and cycle times.

Qualifications include a Masters in a related field and 5+ years of experience; proficiency in SPC and process control is a plus, with exposure to AMAT/EBARA tools beneficial.

  • Develop and implement improved CMP and Wet Process methods of manufacturing, procedures, and processes that result in improved efficiencies, yields, machine operations, and quality.
  • Develop new processes from the ground up for advanced node development with high-volume manufacturing in mind.
  • Implement project or improvement plans for areas of responsibility including efficiency improvements, cost reduction or quality improvement programs.
  • Perform lot and equipment dispositions to support the continuous flow of production and to minimize cycle time in a high volume manufacturing 300mm wafer Fab running Analog Technologies.
  • Provide training to junior colleagues and process technicians. Maintain and improve training documentation and procedures.
  • Identify systematic problems in either process or equipment related sources and communicating findings to the engineering staff in a continuous manner.
  • Support the manufacturing ramp with execution of equipment/process startup, process experiments (SWRs).
  • Participate in data analysis and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate across teams/ branches to solve fab priorities, which can change quickly.

The responsibilities of a Manufacturing Process Engineer in this role include:

  • Support manufacturing operations in a high-interrupt and rapidly ramping tool install environment.
  • Develop and implement improved CMP and Wet Process methods of manufacturing, procedures, and processes that result in improved efficiencies, yields, machine operations, and quality, and a relentless commitment to chase and visualize the data.
  • Develop new processes from the ground up for advanced node development with high-volume manufacturing in mind.
  • Implement project or improvement plans for areas of responsibility including but not limited to: efficiency improvements, cost reduction or quality improvement programs, new product support and other process improvements.
  • Perform lot and equipment dispositions to support the continuous flow of production and to minimize cycle time in a high volume manufacturing 300mm wafer Fab running Analog Technologies.
  • Provide training to junior colleagues and process technicians. Maintain and improve training documentation and procedures.
  • Identify systematic problems in either process or equipment related sources and communicating findings to the engineering staff in a continuous manner.

Minimum requirements:
  • Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • 5 years relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control and process release strategies
  • Proficiency with Python, Claude, or other AI modles or tools is a plus
  • Experience with AMAT and EBARA CMP process tools is a plus
  • Experience with Single Wafer Clean Process Tools (LAM, TEL, DNS) and High-K cleans is a plus
  • Strong understanding of Cu and Al BEOL integrations
  • Ability to develop an empty process space from conception to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
