Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a motivated and qualified Sr. Cloud Security Engineer in Omaha, NE.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the infrastructure and security of our Microsoft Azure environment. This includes planning and implementing the technology infrastructure and developing operational solutions to manage the environment. Provides support to both the business and security teams by assisting with the deployment of security controls and processes. Acts as a primary resource during security incidents to ensure appropriate action is taken.

What You'll Do

1. Act as a technical expert for infrastructure and security issues, ensuring the implementation of security tools that meet business, security, and compliance requirements while protecting user data.
2. Collaborate with technology leads to design and implement all aspects of the company's Microsoft Azure environment and provide expertise on system architecture decisions and priorities.
3. Develop and implement comprehensive security technologies and processes, including data protection, cryptography, key management, and identity and access management.
4. Responsible for deploying and integrating new/existing security cloud technologies such as alerts, sensors, and tools.
5. Document support procedures and train team members on these procedures.
6. Design and implement disaster recovery solutions.
7. Configure and manage network and application security scanning solutions.
8. Assist with compliance initiatives and implement specific controls to ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Azure Cloud Security (experience with AWS is also applicable).
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Expert knowledge of cloud security standards and industry best practices.
• Experience with systems management and automation using Python or PowerShell.
• Strong communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership.
• Strong collaboration skills, ability to work with ambiguity, and across roles and groups.

Pluses

• Experience with Operations Management Suite, Azure Security Center, Microsoft Intune, and other Azure access control technologies.
• Excellent cross-team collaboration skills, working effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CompTIA Security+ (completed or in progress).
