Job summary

The Blue Venture Fund is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise cloud platform across private and public clouds. You will work closely with development, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure infrastructure and automation.

You will configure cloud-native services, manage AKS deployments, and drive IaC adoption using Terraform, ARM templates, and PowerShell. The role emphasizes reliability, cost efficiency, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, administering, and supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of private/public cloud environments and security policies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and IaC tooling (Terraform, ARM, PowerShell).
• Experience with container orchestration (AKS) and service meshes (Istio).
• Proactive monitoring, cost optimization, and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and improve day-to-day operations of hardware and operating systems, including Cloud Services.
• Evaluate system utilization, monitor response time, and provide primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
• Coordinate and perform additions and changes to servers, network, operating systems and attached devices.
• Ensure servers, operating systems and network components adhere to security policies and infrastructure standards.
• Utilize metrics and cloud-native consumption-based services to improve cost efficiencies.
• Implement and configure cloud-native services in CI/CD pipelines using IaC tools.
• Implement and configure Istio Service Mesh and Helm Chart Deployments.
• Maintain VMware and Cloud virtual environments.
• Mentor fellow Cloud Admins and Engineers.
• Troubleshoot AKS cluster-based issues and deployments via ADO pipelines.
• Provide infrastructure problem resolution and SQL Server troubleshooting.
• Cross-train team members and support incident management.

Job description

The Sr. Cloud Engineer will report to the Cloud Engineering Manager in the Technology Department. This role is responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, and support of the enterprise infrastructure for a dynamic, growing business. The environment spans private and public clouds, networks, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, mobile devices, process schedulers, telecommunications, and general databases. The SCE will interface closely with the development teams, client service teams and business leaders to integrate, support, operate and provide infrastructure related to the Platform Architecture within Millennium Trust. Working within a team environment, the SCE participates directly in solution creation, providing hands‑on support as well as operational support and training. This individual must be creative, client focused, solutions-driven, organized, and have the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

• Provide direct support and improve the day-to-day operations of hardware and operating systems, including Cloud Services:
  • Evaluate system utilization, monitor response time, and provide primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
  • Coordinate and perform additions and changes to servers, network, operating systems and attached devices, including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation and testing of new network hardware and software.
  • Ensure servers, operating systems and network components are implemented and adhere to the information security policies and infrastructure standards.
  • Utilize metrics and cloud native consumption-based services to improve cost efficiencies.
• Implement and Configure Cloud native services in CI/CD pipelines using IAC tools.
• Implement and Configure Istio Service Mesh and Helm Chart Deployments
• Implement and Configure firewalls and security appliances.
• Implement and Configure the Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption Plan as it relates to the backup and restoration of the technology infrastructure.
  • Ensure run books are updated on a regular basis.
• Maintain the VMware and Cloud virtual environments.

• Manage, monitor, troubleshoot and support existing projects and processes; collaborate with various cross-functional teams to determine and define software requirements and propose software solutions.
• Provide technical subject matter expertise and work with a wider team to ensure development activities are aligned with the scope, schedule, priority, and business objectives.
• Maintaining and upgrading the deployment platforms as well as system infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or ARM templets or PowerShell or similar.
• Troubleshooting AKS cluster-based issues, deployment through the ADO pipeline
• CLI, Powershell, ARMExperience working with teams to deliver complete azure solutions (security, operations, engineering, application team)
• Provide infrastructure problem resolution for various applications throughout the organization.
• Provide general SQL Server database troubleshooting and support.
• Utilize programming skills to design and develop programs or scripts for various repetitive functions.
• Performs all duties with a focus on goals of Inspira, which includes risk mitigation.
• Support inbound calls/emails, maintaining tickets within the issue tracking application related to Infrastructure Support
• Cross-train other team members to facilitate coverage.
