Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking an experienced senior claims professional to investigate and settle advanced, large loss claims with minimal supervision. You will review coverages, determine liability, secure information, arrange appraisals and settle claims using best practices.

You will also evaluate reserves, assist in case preparation for litigation, and mentor new hires. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4–8 years in claims is required, with industry designations preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4–8 years of technical claims investigations/settling experience in claims or similar organization.
• Ability to work independently while assimilating various technical subjects.
• Strong written and oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Effective interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external clients at all levels.
• Industry designations preferred: IIA, AIC, AEi, CPCU.
• Licensing requirements per state or jurisdiction.
