Job summary

Saulsbury Industries is seeking a senior Civil/Structural Engineer to serve as lead civil engineer on multiple projects in the Abilene, Odessa, or Houston area. The role requires a 10+ year background in utilities, infrastructure, and/or substation design, with Texas PE licensure.

You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and prepare design documents, schedules, and estimates. The candidate should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure while delivering

At this position, the candidate will be the lead civil engineer on one or more projects at any given time. The candidate will be required to apply engineering techniques and analysis to a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, within the discipline, while coordinating with other disciplines to complete projects.**Responsibilities/Competencies*** Experience as a Civil Engineer for projects in utilities, infrastructure, and/or substation design* Experience completing site development, grading, and drainage design of substation and infrastructure facilities* Experience completing and producing design documents for the structural design of substations and infrastructure projects* Act as a discipline civil engineer for assigned projects* Interact with all engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients* Provide input on the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for all projects.* Provide man hour and equipment estimates for project proposals as required* Follow procedures and systems to maximize department efficiency* Must be able to work under pressure, coordinate numerous activities, and interface with people to achieve maximum efficiency* Self-motivated personality with the ability to work well with the clients and others.**Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and Licensed Professional Engineer in State of Texas* At least 10 years’ experience in utilities and infrastructure* Strong analytical and communication skills* Knowledge of substation grading and drainage design and structural design* Proficient in RISA 3D, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Civil 3D* Experienced in leading engineering team and working with Civil Design team**Physical Requirements*** Prolonged periods sitting / standing at a desk and working on a computer.* Ability to stand for extended periods of time.* Ability to walk the jobsites.* Ability to carry up to 50 pounds.*Saulsbury is an equal opportunity employer.
