Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Senior Charge Description Master (CDM) Coordinator for a remote role. The position focuses on maintaining the chargemaster and supporting the revenue cycle, with responsibilities spanning reporting, corrective actions, and staff training.

You will work with hospital administration to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including MD HSCRC, and lead chargemaster reviews and meetings. Strong coding knowledge and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; associates degree strongly preferred.
• Six years of experience directly related to chargemaster maintenance.
• Certification: CPC-H CPC, CCS or other coding certification.

Responsibilities

• Produce and analyze standard monthly reports for compliance with regulations.
• Identify and resolve patterns of rejections and denials due to chargemaster issues.
• Train management and staff on corrective actions and SOPs.
• Oversee annual chargemaster reviews for assigned facilities.
• Reconcile and validate charge capture tools against the chargemaster.
• Review and audit claims for completeness and revenue enhancement.
• Lead monthly chargemaster meetings and act as project lead for special tasks.

The Senior Charge Description Master (CDM) Coordinator position is critical to the success of the revenue cycle process; under leadership of the director, case mix information management the Sr. CDM Coordinator will develop and maintain efficient workflow processes to ensure proper and compliant use of the chargemaster. Responsibilities include:

1) produce and analyze standard monthly reports to identify trends and issues of compliance with federal and local regulations

2) identify and resolve patterns of rejections and denials when due to chargemaster coding, inadequate workflows and user error

3) working with administrative and clinical management, the Sr. CM Coordinator will implement corrective actions and provide training in accordance with standard operating procedures

4) oversee and conduct annual chargemaster reviews for assigned facilities

5) reconcile and validate all charge capture tools against the chargemaster for accuracy, which includes mapping links between interface systems and various subsystems

6) review and audit claims for completeness and revenue enhancement

7) facilitate and conduct monthly chargemaster meetings and at the corporate level, act as project lead for special task.

Requirements

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree strongly preferred
• Six (6) years of experience directly related to chargemaster maintenance.
• One of the following certifications is required: CPC-H CPC, CCS or other coding certification

Salary Range

Minimum 34.41/hour - Maximum 56.82/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
