Job description

Job Title: Sr Calibrations Tech

Department: Engineering

Location: Sellersville, PA

Responsibilities
  • Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process, facility, and laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Perform scheduled calibrations, unscheduled corrective calibrations, and repairs of industrial instrumentation (e.g., 4-20mA, HART, Fieldbus, PROFIBUS loops).
  • Calibrate all critical instruments used in drug manufacturing according to in‑house procedures within the scheduled time frame.
  • Calibrate electronic sensors, control devices, and environmental controls.
  • Maintain calibration records and author changes to SOPs and work instructions.
  • Interpret P&ID diagrams, equipment layouts, and specifications for wiring, configuration, programming, and installation of new instrumentation.
  • Support new equipment selection and participate in FAT/commissioning activities.
  • Use CMMS to perform data entry, report generation, and close work orders.
  • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and other departments to schedule calibrations and write procedures.
  • Assist and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic circuits (motors, pumps, compressors, boilers, chillers, and water systems) and perform root‑cause analysis for failures.
  • Collect and organize measurement data to produce standard metrology reports for engineers.
  • Ensure safety compliance and adherence to LOTO procedures.
  • Provide support and training to maintenance personnel on instrumentation and calibration.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or certification in instrumentation technology strongly preferred.
  • 3‑5 years of hands‑on calibration, instrumentation, and electronic equipment/controls maintenance experience.
  • Experience in a controlled and regulated environment.
  • Applied understanding of basic electronics theory (Ohm’s law) and proficiency with hand‑held and stationary measurement and signal‑generation equipment.
  • Ability to identify, safely troubleshoot, and repair AC and DC electrical circuitry while adhering to LOTO job plans.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and specifications.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and accurate with a high degree of thoroughness.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to multi‑task and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient use of CMMS software.
  • Technical certification in instrumentation or controls preferred.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or related electromechanical industry preferred.
Physical Demands

Laboratory/manufacturing setting with exposure to dust, odor, noise, and fumes. Frequent sitting, speaking, or hearing. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50‑75pounds. Must use hands to handle, feel, reach, or operate objects or controls.

Work Environment

High‑demand office setting and mechanical rooms requiring extended time troubleshooting equipment and making system improvements. Position may require extended hours, evenings, and weekends. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, lab coats, gloves, specialized clothing, laboratory uniform, appropriate shoes) may be required in areas associated with this position.
