Job summary

Piramal Pharma Solutions is seeking a Senior Calibration Technician to calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process, facility, and laboratory equipment to support GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

You will perform calibrations of instrumentation (4-20mA, HART, Fieldbus, PROFIBUS), maintain CMMS records, participate in FAT and commissioning, and ensure safety and compliance across Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years calibration, instrumentation, or electronic controls maintenance experience.
  • Experience in a controlled or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronics, AC/DC circuitry, and measurement equipment.
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and corrective calibrations of industrial instrumentation including 4-20mA, HART, Fieldbus, and PROFIBUS loops.
  • Calibrate critical manufacturing instruments following approved procedures and schedules.
  • Maintain calibration records and CMMS documentation.
  • Participate in FAT, commissioning, instrumentation selection, and procurement activities.
  • Interpret P&IDs, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
  • Install, wire, configure, and program instrumentation and small I&C projects.
  • Author and revise SOPs, job plans, and calibration procedures.
  • Coordinate calibration schedules with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems and support root cause investigations.
  • Generate metrology reports and support inspections and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements and LOTO procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • The Senior Calibration Technician is responsible for calibrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process, facility, laboratory equipment, and instrumentation to support GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

Education & Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certification in Instrumentation Technology preferred.

  • 3–5 years of calibration, instrumentation, or electronic controls maintenance experience.

  • Experience in a controlled or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Working knowledge of electronics, AC/DC circuitry, and measurement equipment.

  • Experience with CMMS systems and technical documentation.

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Physical Demands


  • Frequent sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and use of hands.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50–75 pounds.

  • Exposure to manufacturing and laboratory environments.

  • Work in offices, production areas, and mechanical rooms.

  • May require evenings, weekends, and extended hours.

  • Use of appropriate PPE including safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, and safety footwear.
