Job summary

The Gill Corporation -- Maryland is seeking a senior procurement professional to manage supplier selection, cost negotiations, and purchase order processes for manufacturing operations in Maryland. You will review proposals, issue POs, track orders, and maintain records while ensuring quality, reliability, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include vendor relations, interfacing with QC and Engineering, and complex cost analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering; 8+ years procurement in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, communication, and vendor-management skills.
• Experience with SAP and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Selects, interviews, and analyzes potential vendors to determine factors affecting parts and services.
• Reviews proposals, negotiates prices and terms, and recommends vendors meeting standards.
• Issues purchase orders, follows up on orders, verifies/expedites delivery, and maintains records.
• Interfaces with QC, Engineering, and other departments to ensure material availability.
• Writes and maintains documentation; supports Maryland procurement personnel.

By utilizing broad engineering expertise along with sophisticated 5-axis CNC machining and special processing, we have the ability to deliver solutions that are responsive to customer needs.Compensation for this role: $80.000.00 - $95,000.00, commensurate with experience (Relocation assistance is not available.)Shift: 1st shift, On-site Monday through FridaySummary:Using the Gill Documents (i.e.: GMS, GOS, GWI) identifies/purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, parts, services, and supplies necessary for the operation of the Company. Important considerations given are the most effective cost consistent with the quality standards, specifications, and manufacturing schedules.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Selects, interviews, and analyzes potential vendors to determine factors that affect ability to provide needed parts, materials, and/or services. Determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.Reviews proposals, negotiates prices and most favorable terms, recommending only those vendors that meet established Company standards.Prepares and issues purchase orders, follows up on orders placed, verifies and/or expedites delivery, approves payment, resolves problems with vendors, and maintains all necessary records and documentation.Maintains positive vendor relations.Interfaces with various other departments such as QC regarding rejected materials, Engineering concerning substitution of materials and/or other indirect departments for supplies required to maintain operations.Reviews ERP-material requirements and releases Purchase Requisitions for approval.Supports and collaborates with Maryland’s procurement personnel.Performs special projects.Works in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rules.
