Responsibilities include proposal reviews, negotiations, ERP/ITAR compliance, and collaboration with QC and Engineering to optimize material flow. On-site 1st shift with full-time hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering or equivalent training and experience.
  • Eight or more years of procurement experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
  • Experience with SAP or ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

  • Selects, interviews, and analyzes vendors to determine factors affecting cost, reliability, and schedules.
  • Reviews proposals and negotiates prices/terms with vendors meeting company standards.
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders; follows up on orders and expedites delivery.
  • Maintains positive vendor relations and proper documentation.
  • Interfaces with QC for material quality and with Engineering for substitutions.
  • Reviews ERP material requirements and releases requisitions for approval.
  • Supports Maryland procurement personnel and performs special projects.

By utilizing broad engineering expertise along with sophisticated 5-axis CNC machining and special processing, we have the ability to deliver solutions that are responsive to customer needs.

Compensation for this role

$80.000.00 - $95,000.00, commensurate with experience (Relocation assistance is not available.)

Shift

1st shift, On-site Monday through Friday

Summary

Using the Gill Documents (i.e.: GMS, GOS, GWI) identifies/purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, parts, services, and supplies necessary for the operation of the Company. Important considerations given are the most effective cost consistent with the quality standards, specifications, and manufacturing schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Selects, interviews, and analyzes potential vendors to determine factors that affect ability to provide needed parts, materials, and/or services. Determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Reviews proposals, negotiates prices and most favorable terms, recommending only those vendors that meet established Company standards.
  • Prepares and issues purchase orders, follows up on orders placed, verifies and/or expedites delivery, approves payment, resolves problems with vendors, and maintains all necessary records and documentation.
  • Maintains positive vendor relations.
  • Interfaces with various other departments such as QC regarding rejected materials, Engineering concerning substitution of materials and/or other indirect departments for supplies required to maintain operations.
  • Reviews ERP-material requirements and releases Purchase Requisitions for approval.
  • Supports and collaborates with Maryland’s procurement personnel.
  • Performs special projects.
  • Works in a safe manner following all departmental and plant safety rules. Reports any unsafe work conditions to the Safety Manager, supervisor, or management
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or Engineering or equivalent training and years of experience.
  • Eight (8) years or more of related procurement experience in a manufacturing and standard cost environment.
  • Medium to advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
  • Company ERP system experience – SAP Preferred.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, write, understand, and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
