Responsibilities for Sr. Buyer:
- Excellent understanding of procurement and buying operations with the ability to interface effectively with other departments and division employees to accomplish job functions.
- Thorough understanding of products/items, vendors, and division-specific requirements, while understanding and adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Communicate and collaborate with vendors to manage orders, deliveries, and resolve issues, promoting good working relationships with vendors and store operations.
- Recognize trends or patterns and adjust forecasts using statistical modeling techniques and qualitative data. Conduct post-promotional reviews and analyses to ensure promotional requirements are met, identify errors, and develop solutions.
- Manage constrained inventory by tracking supply from vendors, maintaining committed supply get-well dates in the central database, and summarizing weekly changes and their impact on product availability in Excel.
- Handle display configuration, forecasting, allocation, and replenishment.
- Maintain weekly forecasts of receipt plans, inventory shrink and waste, and ending inventory balances based on category. Review reports regularly to monitor service levels and inventory productivity, making buying decisions based on data.
- Manage vendor compliance with inventory standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; degree preferred.
- Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- Retail experience highly desired.
