Job summary

Hexcel is seeking a procurement professional to lead supplier surveillance, negotiations, and long-term subcontracts in support of aerospace production. The role requires an eye for detail, strong MS Office and ERP/MRP experience, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.

This position is based in the United States and requires US citizenship for security clearance eligibility, with opportunities across multiple manufacturing sites and R&D centers.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree required.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Experience reading safety rules, operating instructions and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier surveillance and audits.
  • Lead source surveys, rate readiness reviews and supplier qualification activities.
  • Provide inputs into make/buy determinations and supplier selections.
  • Troubleshoot supplier problems and issue resolutions.
  • Maintain organized Purchase Order files.
  • Procure major production commodities and materials.
  • Lead negotiations of terms and pricing.
  • Develop requests for purchase quotations.
  • Establish long-term supply subcontracts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize the MRP system for procurement processes.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct supplier surveillance and audits.
  • Lead and conduct source surveys, rate readiness reviews, procurement review boards, offsite program reviews and off-site resolution of supplier problems.
  • Provide inputs into make/buy determinations, source selections and supplier qualifications.
  • Troubleshoot supplier problems and issue resolution.
  • Maintain thorough and organized Purchase Order files.
  • Procure major and critical production commodities and materials.
  • Lead negotiations of terms and pricing.
  • Develop requests for purchase quotation.
  • Establish long-term supply subcontracts to support organization.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiently utilize the MRP system for efficient procurement processes.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues.
Requirements
  • BS/BA Degree required.
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Operating instructions may be provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer proficiency is required; must have above-average proficiency in MS Excel, as well as general proficiency in other MS Office Products.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft AX is preferred.
  • Demonstrated communication (oral and written), organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience calculating figures and amounts using basic algebra and geometry such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive team and supplier relationships.
  • Facilitate a collaborative relationship with Operations and other support functions.
  • Must be US citizen and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of ITAR, FAR, DFARS, and DPAS provisions and clauses is preferred.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001/AS 9100 environment preferred.
  • APICS Certification and Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred.
Salary

Complete salary range for this role: $68,665 - $117,700
