The Lead Maintenance Technician oversees the maintenance and repair of building infrastructure and industrial production machinery in a busy machine shop that fabricates parts for the oil and gas industry. This role combines hands‑on troubleshooting and repair of CNC and manual equipment with leadership responsibilities, including coordinating a maintenance team, managing vendors, and ensuring all work is documented in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). The position requires deep technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and facilities systems, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Lead day-to-day maintenance operations for a machine shop that fabricates parts for the oil and gas industry.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manual mills and lathes, CNC mills and lathes, hydraulic presses, high- pressure hydraulic pumps, gearboxes, auger systems, and pneumatic actuators.
Diagnose and repair industrial equipment including CNC machines, hydraulic machinery, pumps, motors, and related components.
Carry out electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment, including work with PLCs, VFDs, and control systems.
Perform facilities maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs for the building and supporting infrastructure.
Use a CMMS to log, track, and update all maintenance activities, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Assign tasks and workloads to maintenance team members and provide guidance, support, and oversight to ensure timely completion of work.
Coordinate and manage relationships with external maintenance vendors and service providers, including scheduling and overseeing outsourced work when needed.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
6+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Repair experience with CNC machines, hydraulic machinery, and pumps.
Electrical maintenance experience, including PLCs, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting.
Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.
Facilities maintenance experience covering HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
CMMS and basic computer skills to log, track, and report maintenance activities.
Experience coordinating and working with external maintenance vendors and service providers.
Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines.

First shift typically runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Fridays from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with voluntary half-day Saturdays that may become mandatory depending on workload; the average workweek is around 50 hours.
Maintenance personnel are on call from time to time to support production needs.
The shop requires appropriate safety attire, including steel-toe footwear, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deer Park, TX.
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $38.00/hr.
