Job summary

Socket.dev in Charlotte, NC seeks a Sr. Benefits Analyst to oversee Health & Welfare programs, compliance, and ongoing effectiveness. You will partner with employees, payroll, and vendors to ensure accurate benefit administration.

You will manage Open Enrollment, vendor coordination, 5500 filings, ACA reporting, and 401(k) governance while driving process improvements and ensuring ERISA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, finance, accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive benefits administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Welfare and retirement plan administration.
• Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and related regulations.
• Advanced analytical and Excel skills; excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee health and welfare benefit programs and resolve escalated issues.
• Manage Open Enrollment, benefit communications, testing, and vendor coordination.
• Serve as primary contact for benefit vendors and ensure strong partnerships.
• Ensure ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA compliance and required notices.
• Coordinate Form 5500 filings, ACA reporting, and related activities.
• Manage COBRA, HSA, FSA, commuter benefits, and related processes.
• Review and reconcile monthly benefit invoices and reporting.
• Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and year-end reporting.
• Support 401(k) retirement plan governance and administration.
• Identify process improvements and potential compliance risks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Sr. Benefits Analyst will oversee the administration, compliance, and ongoing effectiveness of our Health & Welfare programs. The incumbent will serve as a critical liaison between employees, vendors, payroll, consultants, and business leaders.

Duties and Responsiblities

• Administer company health and welfare benefit programs and resolve escalated employee and vendor issues.
• Manage annual Open Enrollment, benefit communications, system testing, and vendor coordination.
• Serve as primary contact for benefit vendors and maintain strong service partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, cafeteria plan regulations, and required notices.
• Coordinate Form 5500 filings, ACA reporting, and other compliance-related activities.
• Manage COBRA, HSA, FSA, commuter benefits, and related administrative processes.
• Review, reconcile, and process monthly benefit invoices, allocations, and reporting.
• Partner closely with Payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions, life event changes, leave administration, and year-end reporting.
• Support administration and governance of the company 401(k) retirement plan.
• Identify trends, process improvements, and potential compliance risks requiring escalation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive benefits administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Welfare and retirement plan administration.
• Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
• Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and email.
• Experience partnering with Payroll, Finance, and external benefit providers.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
• Experience managing benefit vendors, renewals, and implementations preferred
• Knowledge of retirement plan governance and Pooled Employer Plan (PEP) administration preferred
• Understanding of budgeting, accounting allocations, and benefit financial reporting preferred
